For Melrosians who want to take action on the climate but don’t know where to start, we have the answer at the new Melrose Climate Action site.

Since becoming a Green Community the City has partnered with the volunteer Melrose Energy Commission and together they have initiated dozens of innovative outreach campaigns to help Melrose residents and businesses save energy and money – Solarize, HeatSmart, Big Roof Solar and multiple electric vehicle showcases are just a few examples. The latest joint initiative was HeatSmart Melrose in 2020 that encouraged homeowners to switch to clean heating and cooling using air or ground source heat pumps and solar hot water systems. 

For Melrosians who want to volunteer on energy and environment issues, there are several organizations who work to make Melrose a more sustainable and livable community for all.
