City of Melrose Announces 2018 Park of the Month Program
This summer, there will be an additional reason for you to get outside with your family & friends, as Melrose pilots a Park of the Month program. The City has a plethora of parks & playgrounds and is showcasing two of the lesser-known ones in July & August. Visiting a park is great for your body, your mind and your overall health.
This July, visit Dunton Park (Pratt St. & Franklin St.) between dawn and dusk. Amenities include: playground equipment/tot lot, some shady areas, benches & trash receptacles. You can walk or bike there, or car parking is in Greenleaf Place. In August, visit Volunteer Park (Warren St. & Melrose St.) between dawn and dusk. Amenities include: playground equipment/tot lot, open space, some shady areas, benches & trash receptacles. You can walk or bike there, or park your car on Warren Street.
Thanks to the Recreation Department, Parks Department, Melrose Family YMCA, Melrose Library, Ped & Bike Advisory Committee, MA DOT Safe Routes to School Program and the Melrose Health Department/Mass in Motion, there will be FREE program offerings as well. The July & August calendars will be on the City of Melrose webpage (www.cityofmelrose.org). You do not need to pre-register for any programs. Inclement weather? Contact host organization for cancellation information.
