More Music from the Melrose Symphony this March!

The Melrose Symphony continues its 100th Anniversary Season with an exciting concert on Saturday, March 3rd, at 8 pm, in Melrose’s historic Memorial Hall.

Grammy-winning composer, pianist, and conductor Charles Floyd joins the Melrose Symphony to perform his own composition, a piano concerto loosely constructed to follow the dramatic journey of a protagonist. Floyd is an annual guest conductor with the Boston Pops and has performed with notable artists including Sting, Elton John, James Taylor, Stevie Wonder, and Natalie Cole.

The MSO opens the concert with Aaron Copland’s Outdoor Overture. One of the most respected American classical composers of the 20th-Century, Copland is best known for incorporating popular forms of American music such as jazz and folk into his compositions. Closing the concert is Dvorak’s New World Symphony, composed during the composer’s stay in America, and chosen by the musicians of the MSO as their favorite symphony.

Tickets are $10 for students and $30 for adults. Purchase online at www.melrosesymphony.org or in-store at Miter Biter or Buckalew's on Main Street in Melrose. Every concert this season has sold out—get your tickets early!
