‘Evita’ tells the story of the young and ambitious Eva Peron and her meteoric rise to sainthood. Set in Argentina between 1934 and 1952, the Tony-winning musical follows Eva on her journey from poor illegitimate child to ambitious actress, to the wife of a military leader-turned-president, to, ultimately, the most powerful woman in Latin America. Both a saint and a villain, Eva Peron’s dramatic spectacular journey, from poverty to prosperity, is a groundbreaking and heartbreaking depiction of populism, politics, and celebrity. ‘Evita’ features many classic songs from Lyricist Tim Rice and Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber including ‘Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,’ ‘Oh What a Circus,’ ‘Buenos Aires’ and ‘Another Suitcase in Another Hall.’

‘Evita’ is brought to the stage by Artistic Director Adam Schuler, Vocal Director Shawn Gelzleichter, Choreographer Becca Flint, and Orchestra Conductor Matthew Repucci– the same team responsible for the award winning Melrose Drama productions of ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ ‘Les Miserables,’ and ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie.’ With over sixty High School and Middle School students bringing ‘Evita’ to life, this is a production not to be missed!
