Homecoming at FUMC Melrose and Ell Pond Clean-Up, September 15

The First United Methodist Church, 645 Main St., Melrose, will be celebrating Homecoming Sunday on Sunday, September 15, with a 10 a.m. worship service followed by a community service project at 11:30 a.m. All are invited.

The church’s new minister, the Reverend Travis Bonnette-Kim, will preach at the Homecoming Service. Reverend Bonnette-Kim was raised in Louisiana and is a graduate of Centenary College and Garrett Seminary. He has served in a variety of ministry settings, including as an Associate Pastor of a large suburban Chicago church, a co-pastor of three rural Illinois congregations, and as pastor of several New England churches. Hewas appointed minister of the First United Methodist Church of Melrose in July, upon the retirement of Reverend Stacey Lanier.His wife, Sandra, is pastor at Grace United Methodist Church in Lynn.

At the conclusion of the service, church members will walk over to Ell Pond to pick up litter around the pond. All are invited. Snacks and cleaning materials will be provided.
