Follow Your Art Launches Crowdfunding Campaign

FOLLOW YOUR ART COMMUNITY STUDIOS SEEKS $25,000 TO
OPEN DOORS IN SEPTEMBER, LAUNCHES CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN

All money raised up to $25K will be matched by Melrose Bank Foundation

Follow Your Art Community Studios (FYACS), a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to building creative community in and around Melrose, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise $25,000 by September 30, 2019. All money raised will be matched by a Melrose Bank Foundation grant of $25,000, and all funds will be used to complete the work needed to open FYACS’ new studios at 647 Main Street to the public.  

Specifically, proceeds from the crowdfunding campaign will be used for: 

  • An ADA-compliant ramp into the building;
  • An accessible first-floor bathroom;
  • Upgraded electrical system;
  • Infrastructure improvements and start-up supplies.

“We are grateful for any and all contributions; community involvement is what we need most to get our space ready to open to everyone in September,” said Kris Rodolico, Executive Director of FYACS (https://www.fyamelrose.org). “And, if you donate to our crowdfunding campaign during August and September, your money will be doubled by Melrose Bank Foundation’s generous match.”

Follow Your Art studio operated as a small private business in downtown Melrose for 11 years before transitioning to the non-profit Follow Your Art Community Studios in June with an expanded mission. The new location, an 1889 Victorian at 647 Main Street in Melrose, will house FYACS’ programs and provide space for visual artists, writers, and other creative people to pursue their crafts. The “Big Yellow House” is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and FYACS is committed to preserving the building’s historical integrity.
