Planning Ahead for the Next Nor'easter

It looks like there is more winter weather on the way tomorrow but preliminary forecasts currently have the brunt of the snow hitting northwest of the City, although this could change overnight as the rain/snow line establishes itself over Massachusetts. Temperatures should hold between 30-40 degrees during the day with a wintry mix beginning after the morning commute. As of now, we are expecting between 2-4 inches throughout the storm with the worst of the weather expected after the evening commute hours. Please allow yourself extra time in the evening. DPW will be staffed throughout the day addressing any and all storm needs. You can contact the DPW City Yard at (781) 665-0142.

Once again, wind gusts are forecasted and could potentially cause power issues. Please contact National Grid at 1-800-322-3223, or go to their website at www.nationalgrid.com and access your issue by entering your address or account number. If you have downed wires or an emergency, please contact the Melrose Police or Fire Departments.

Melrose Public Schools are on a scheduled half day tomorrow. We do not anticipate any changes to that normal half-day schedule. We expect that City Hall, Milano Center, and the Melrose Public Library will stay open regularly scheduled hours.

We will provide another update tomorrow regarding afternoon and night activities in the City once the storm begins and forecasts solidify.
