New Information on Essex Street Explosion

Here is the latest news from National Grid:

There was an underground cable fault. There was a disturbance that kicked up a manhole and damaged the sidewalk. Some windows were blown out with debris. No one lost power, but they need to take a section of cable out of service (4 houses), and replace. That will take 4-6 hours. The customers have all been spoken to. We had the community team on site. The team will be meeting with the Mayor on Monday, but they have been in touch with officials, obviously. This was not a gas incident.
