Melrose Parent University is November 17

Participants in last year's Parent University

The annual symposium, with free workshops for parents, caregivers, educators and community members, is focused on education and related topics; childcare available

Do you want to hear from experts about parenting strategies in the social media age? Curious about the Melrose Public Schools budget? Trying to help your middle school student stay focused, mindful and organized? Maybe you would like to learn more about a “day in the life of an elementary school student” in Melrose? Or hear about planning for college admissions and financing? These topics and many more will be addressed at workshops offered for free during Parent University on November 17th.

Join the Melrose Education Foundation and the Melrose Public Schools for our annual event. This free morning of workshops and discussions is for parents and caregivers of students of all ages, from preschool through grade 12 and beyond. Educators and community members are also welcome to attend. Childcare will be available, but registration is required.

Parent University will take place on Saturday, November 17 from 8:30 am-12:00 pm at the Melrose High School Learning Commons (360 Lynn Fells Parkway). Learn more and register for this free event at: melroseedfoundation.org.

The program is specifically designed to be of interest to parents and caregivers of students. More than 20 workshops will be offered on a wide range of topics, such as: executive functioning and organizational skills; mindfulness in the classroom and beyond; college admissions and financing; social media use and limits; substance abuse prevention and healthy teen relationships; and the Melrose Public Schools budget.

Registration is required, but admission to the event is free thanks to donations from individuals to the Melrose Education Foundation, the partnership of the Melrose Public Schools, and support from our generous local sponsors, including the Foundation’s premier business partner, the Alison Socha and Linda O’ Agent Expertise Team at Leading Edge.
