Melrose Elections Office Notes Early Voting Dates for State Primary

Early Voting

The Melrose Elections Office has announced the early voting dates for the upcoming State Primary, which will take place on September 6, 2022. Early voting in person at the City Hall Council Chamber will take place during the following dates and times:

  • Saturday, August 27, 2022 – from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. *Also the last day to register to vote*
  • Monday, August 29, 2022 – from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 30, 2022 – from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 31, 2022 – from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, September 1, 2022 – from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday, September 2, 2022 – from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Residents who wish to submit absentee or early voting ballots can mail them to “Elections Office, City Hall, 562 Main Street, Melrose, MA, 02176”; deliver their ballots in person at the City Hall Council chamber; or drop them in the City Hall ballot drop box located between City Hall and the Post Office.

The last day to register for the State Primary by mail or in person is August 27, 2022, at 5 p.m. Residents can check their voter registration by clicking here.

“During the last state primary election, we had approximately 10,000 residents turn out to vote,” said Mayor Paul Brodeur. “Increasing civic engagement in Melrose, including among younger voters, is one of my priorities. My hope is that all Melrose residents, who are 18 years or older, will exercise their right to vote in our upcoming State Primaries. The first step is registering to vote.”

On the 2022 Massachusetts State Primary Ballot: Representative in Congress, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, State Auditor, Governor's Council, State Senator, State Representative, District Attorney, Sheriff, County Commissioner.
