Mayor Brodeur to Swear in Elected Officials During 2022 Inaugural Ceremonies

Mayor Paul Brodeur will swear in Melrose City Councilors and School Committee members during the upcoming 2022 Inaugural Ceremony taking place at Memorial Hall on Monday, January 10 at 7:30p.m. Every year, the Inaugural Ceremony provides the City with an opportunity to celebrate community-elected members and honor their commitment to the City of Melrose.

Community members will still be able to view the ceremony as it will be live-streamed by MMTV beginning at 7:30p.m. on Monday night. The station will broadcast the ceremony on Comcast channel 22, Verizon channel 38, and through their live stream, which can be accessed via this link: www.mmtv3.org/live.

As part of the traditional ceremonial process, Melrose High Senior Kate Sikkema will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. A member of member of BSA Troop 635, Sikkema is known in the City for her Eagle Scout project to increase awareness of  Food Waste Composting in Melrose last November. Returning School Committee members, three of whom will also be sworn in, include Mayor Paul Brodeur, Lizbeth DeSelm, Margaret Raymond Driscoll, Jen McAndrew, Ed O’Connell, and Jennifer Razi-Thomas. Jennifer Razi-Thomas and Jen McAndrew will join Withey in taking the oath.
