The Workshops:

An Evolving Understanding of Gender:
January 18, 7:00p.m.

Join local writer Bill Whittier as he addresses our understanding of gender, which continues to change. During this session of Parent U, you will explore current thoughts on gender and how to provide children with the information they need as they navigate a world that can look very different from the one in which their parents grew up.

The School of Hard Talks:
January 20, 7:00p.m.

Join Boston Medical Center’s Dr. Emily Kline and the Department of Mental Health’s Dr. Kelly English as they address the challenges that come with raising teenagers and young adults. When it comes to teens and young adults, it can seem like everything you say is wrong. The School of Hard Talks is here to help. In this workshop, you'll get tips for having more productive conversations with the teens or young adults in your life.

Participation is free, thanks to the generous support of our local community. Watch for more to come in January such as the Melrose Education Foundation’s virtual Jan Plan!
