2/1 Winter Storm Info
Significant snow is projected to move into the region this afternoon and continue through tomorrow morning. The City of Melrose is working hard to keep the streets safe and clear for you, and we are here if you need us. The City has mobilized dozens of pieces of equipment to facilitate ongoing snow removal starting this afternoon and continuing through tomorrow.
If you have questions regarding snow removal after it has stopped snowing please contact the Department of Public Works at 781-665-0142. This number will be staffed 24/7.
Older Melrosians, individuals with disabilities, and others who are unable to shovel out their own driveways and sidewalks may contact Snow Angels at 781-665-4304. Please leave a message and we will get back to you to connect you to a volunteer. To help shovel or plow out a neighbor in need, you may also call 781-665-4304.
Help us help you by doing your part to keep yourself and your neighbors safe during the storm:
- A parking ban will be in effect from 3 PM today until 12 noon tomorrow.
- There will be no trash pick up tomorrow 2/2. Trash pick up will proceed with a one day delay starting 2/3 and continuing through the week.
- Stay off the roads as much as possible
- Homeowners are responsible for clearing the sidewalks adjacent to their property. Be sure to clear snow from any nearby fire hydrants
