Merchant Permits

The City of Melrose offers two types of Merchant Permits for Melrose business owners and employees for parking within the Downtown Melrose Municipal Parking Lots. Both permits enable permit holders to park Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, in downtown Melrose without needing to adhere to the posted maximum time restriction. On-street parking is not permitted with either Merchant Permit.

  • Please be prepared to provide proof of Melrose employment and the vehicle’s license plate number when obtaining either Merchant Permit. Proof of Melrose employment could be a pay stub, letter from your employer, or an ID badge with name and photo.
  • Employers may obtain permits for their employees, but should be prepared to provide the same proof of employment and the license plate numbers for each employee.
  • Permits are not transferable among employees.
  • There are no limits set on individual businesses regarding how many permits may be obtained. Each employee may only obtain one permit.
