The Melrose Retirement System is administered by a five member board: two elected members, two appointed members, and a member ex-Officio (City Auditor/CFO). The Executive Director is responsible for 567 active and inactive members and 376 retirees, survivors and beneficiaries, all financial transactions, investment activity, member accounts, retirement and pre-retirement counseling and government reporting.

The Melrose Retirement System is governed by Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 32, with the Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission (PERAC) as its regulatory authority.

The Board members and the Executive Director are committed to serving the employees and retirees of the City of Melrose with diligence, honesty and courtesy.
