Order No. 08-206, TRANSFER Amount: $13,500.00 From: A/C #011512-528950 - City Solicitor, Labor Counsel To: A/C #019302-537550 - Council on Aging – Dept. Equipment, COA Boiler System This transfer is necessary to replace the boiler in the Milano Senior Center.

Council on Aging Executive Director Jack Beckley says it is an unfortunate situation.  After 14 years the boiler needs replacing.  Of the estimates he received, two plumbers wanted to install two separate boilers.  He decided to go with Hinchey Brothers and install an ultra furnace that operates at 93% efficiency.  He says he hopes it will work well for at least 20 years.

Alderman Brodeur says that 14 years isn't a long time for a boiler and asks if there is a warranty.  Mr. Beckley says no, not for commercial use.  He says there had to have been a longstanding leak.  Alderman Brodeur says it's obvious this is needed and there is not a lot of debate about it.

Alderman Boisselle moves to recommend, 2nd by Alderman Infurna.  All in favor.

Alderman Infurna motions to adjourn, 2nd by Alderman Boisselle.  All in favor.
