| The Melrose Conservation Commission has positions open for
new members and alternate members starting immediately. The commission is
tasked with protecting open space, applying and enforcing the
Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, and reviewing storm-water impacts
of proposed projects that affect wetlands or floodplains.
Meetings are held twice monthly on the first and third Thursdays of the
month. Any resident of Melrose can apply and anyone with an interest in
protecting the natural resources in Melrose is encouraged to apply.
Resumes can be sent to:
Melrose Conservation Commission
Melrose City Hall
526 Main Street
Melrose MA 02176
All Conservation Commissioners are volunteers and are appointed by the
mayor with the approval of the Board of Aldermen. Alternate members are
also needed and do not have to be appointed by the Mayor. Alternates do
not vote but can provide help and guidance to the commission as well as
assist with projects.
