About Melrose

Melrose
has
a reputation for being a self-sufficient community, offering
everything from restaurants, pharmacies, supermarkets, local specialty
shops, appliance stores, and much more. To our citizens’ delight, most
of these businesses are within walking distance.
Our downtown area is unique. Victorian lamp posts and trees line the
scenic downtown historic district. Pick up your prescriptions, and then
head down the street for a delicious bagel before hitting the YMCA gym.
This area is also home to an assortment of excellent locally owned
businesses to meet all your needs. The downtown vicinity also offers a
variety of dining options and has become one of the North Shore's dining
hot spots. From seafood, to Mexican, to bistro cuisine, Melrose has
it all!
Besides Downtown Melrose, residents enjoy the other businesses
throughout the city, including the Wyoming
Square, Franklin Square, Upper Main St., and Cedar Park
business districts. For example, in Franklin Square several locally-owned eateries await hungry Melrosians. Meanwhile,
a myriad of antique stores and breakfast spots line the West
Wyoming
district. We hope to see you
shopping in Melrose
soon!
