This route follows a portion of Demar’s route. Begin at the Knoll and head down Lynn Fells Parkway towards Stoneham. Follow this road all the way down as it continues to curve around the west border of Melrose. However, do not continue as far as Demar did (into Medford). Take a left turn at Grimsby’s onto West Wyoming Ave. Continue until you turn left again onto Main Street. You will now come back through downtown Melrose. Take a left turn onto Crystal Street after passing Ell Pond. Then continue across Lynn Fells Parkway along Melrose Street. You will pass the Melrose High School on your left. Eventually take a left turn onto Tremont Street. Then finally take a left onto Union Street. 43 Union Street is where Clarence lived with his mother in 1909. Continue down under the bleachers to the High School field, which was renamed Demar field in 1927.
