Coming this March from Melrose Drama is the Melrose Veteran Memorial School’s production of “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” as well as its entry into the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild’s Drama Fest, “A Tale of Sleeping Beauty.” Both plays will be directed by Melrose Drama Director, Mr. Adam Schuler, and will feature over sixty Middle School students in both acting and technical roles.

Both plays will be presented on Friday March 24th and Saturday March 25th at 7:00 PM with a matinee on Sunday March 26th at 1:00 PM at the Melrose Performing Arts Center located at the Middle School. Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors and will be available at the door. “A Tale of Sleeping Beauty” will also be performed at the METG Drama Fest on April 29th at the Winthrop Middle School. See http://metg.org/ for more information.

“The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” takes the beloved Narnia classic and brings it to life onstage. Join four young children from England as they travel through a magical wardrobe into the land of Narnia where they meet an assortment of magical creatures fighting the tyranny of the White Witch.

“Between The Kiss and Awake: A Tale of Sleeping Beauty” is an original play written by local playwright Emily Holmes. This twist on the classic fairy tale takes place in Sleeping Beauty’s dream after the spell has come to pass. She needs a kiss to rescue her but the true power to save her comes from herself!

Both plays are family friendly and suitable for all ages.
