I had the honor of attending the Italian American Police Officer’s Association dinner this past Saturday night. At the dinner, MIT Police Officer Sean Collier was honored posthumously for his heroic actions in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings. Many other public safety officers from other departments throughout the Commonwealth were also honored. It was an honor to be there with Jennifer Lemmerman, who is a Melrose resident and a neighbor, who accepted this award on behalf of her brother, Sean.

Bob Morrison, a Melrose resident and member of the Italian American Police Officers Association, was one of our hosts for the evening. It was a truly memorable event.
